Beauty, meditative repetition, and reflective self-awareness are abstract concepts that Marc Leavitt tries to realize in his artwork. All art is conceptual and abstract; a work by Arp, Bacon, Leonardo, Raphael, Titian, Tobey, or Twombly does not succeed, for the artist, because of how "real" the things in it are depicted, but rather achieves great satisfaction for the abstract qualities it offers from engaged looking.
